Visakhapatnam: More than 500 people participated in a demonstration on cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) organized by a team of doctors on the occasion of World Anaesthesia Day here on October 16 Wednesday at the YMCA on Beach Road.
The group of doctors, from Care Hospital comprising Dr J J David, Dr T Mohan Maharaj, Dr T L Rani, Dr S Anuradha and Dr M Disha, showed how to carry out CPR in case a person is down with a cardiac arrest, unconscious or not breathing, on three mannequins. Over 1,000 brochures were distributed during the event. Speaking on the occasion, Dr J J David said, "First and foremost one must immediately call the 108 ambulance service and in the meantime start compressing the chest of the person affected till the ambulance arrives. In such a scenario, a life can be saved even by a layman." |
