Beijing: The Shanghai metro has sent 25 employees through emergency medical training so they can aid passengers on four of the city's subway lines, local media reported on, March 4, Monday.
The training will allow metro staff in some stations to give cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) to passengers who pass out on the subway, rather than just wait for an ambulance. Passengers often pass out on the subway, especially during rush hours, said Wang Zhonghua, an employee with Shanghai No.1 Metro Operation Co.
The employees work at 25 stations on metro lines 1, 5, 9 and 10, which the company runs on behalf of Shanghai Shentong Metro Group, the city's subway operator, the Shanghai Morning Post reported. There are 90 stations on the four lines. |
