Vijayawada: Krishna District Collector B Lakshmikantham on 11 May (Friday) inaugurated a high speed rescue boat which would be put to use by the District Disaster Administration (DDA) wing, at Punnami Ghat on the banks of river Krishna.
\r\nOfficials of the State Disaster Management rescue team followed the newly-launched boat as part of a trial run. The need for a high-speed boat equipped with sophisticated technology was felt strongly in the aftermath of a ghastly accident in river Krishna that claimed 19 lives in November last year. |
