Medical Responder Programme to be Launched in Doda on July 13


Doda: To save precious lives during any calamity or eventuality, Indian Red Cross Society headquarters, New Delhi, is going to launch the worldwide programme of International Red Cross Society from July 13 in Bhaderwah tehsil, Doda district, of the state. Under the programme called as 1st Medical Responder Programme, volunteers of the erstwhile Doda district will be trained for providing first aid, rescue and search, disaster management, family news service, water and sanitation, health and hygiene, besides camp management and other activities,  which will help them in saving precious lives during any eventuality, said Roma Wani, Honorary general secretary, State Red Cross Society,

 She said First Medical Responder (FMR) programme is an initiative of Indian Red Cross to save lives during calamities and disasters by training local volunteers, including girls. From July 13, the national headquarters will convene a training course for volunteers from across the erstwhile Doda district, including Kishtwar, Ramban districts.
