Vientiane, Laos: As many as 57 delegates from national disaster management offices of member states of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) gathered here on Wednesday (5 April) to seek ways for future cooperation in natural disaster assistance. \r\nThe meeting, which is scheduled to run through Thursday (6 April) will inform progress and key issues of priority programs under the working group\'s purview, namely disaster risk assessment, prevention and mitigation, knowledge and innovation management, preparedness and response, and lastly recovery, Director General of the Social Welfare Department of the Lao Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare Prasong Vongkhamchanh said at the meeting. |
