Dubai: Two and a half years since its launch, the Dubai Civil Defence (DCD) connected about 58,000 establishments and buildings – “literally almost all of them in the emirate” – to a 24x7 Remote Monitoring System (RMS) where, in case of emergency, alarm signals are sent to the 24x7x365 DCD Command Control Centre, allowing for a timely response.
\r\nThe system – which is espoused as a key value to the safety and national security of Dubai – detects and reports alarms in real time from fire and fire fighting systems, and lift and gas detection systems in residential, domestic, commercial and industrial buildings. Information sent to the centre includes exact details on alarm location. |
