Soon, Road Crash Victims Won't Have to Pay Before Treatment

New Delhi: The Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways and ICICI Lombard have initiated a pilot project to provide cashless treatment to road accident victims. The pilot project will begin on the Gurgaon-Jaipur highway.

After the ministry signed a memorandum of understanding with ICICI Lombard, transport minister CP Joshi said, “The first hour after the accident is very critical. Money and volunteers to take the victim to hospital become the two very critical issues. It is here that the ICICI Lombard will chip in. They will provide evacuation as well as cover treatment cost in the first 48 hours of the accident.”
