Karachi: Road traffic in Karachi has been increasing day by day just like any other metros. It is a common sight to see the plight of ambulances sandwiched between buses,trucks, two-wheeler and what not screaming for way to speed. VIPs speeding on are alerted by the traffic cops and the roads are cleared. My simple suggestion to the authorities concerned is why we don’t adopt the same procedure for helping the ambulancevehicles also.
Once ambulance starts hotline communication may be given to a particular traffic hub, which will flash the information to the appropriate traffic police personnel at the spot and ensure to clear the route sidelining other vehicles compulsorily. This will pave smooth way for the Ambulances to speed towards the Hospitals / Nursing Homes for Emergency care. Public also would understand and give way on humanitarian angle. Let us save those poor lives by just sacrificing a few minutes of our time. Will authorities look into this suggestion? |
