Rescue Station to Assist Fishermen Set up on Ly Son Island

A rescue station to assist fishermen was inaugurated on Ly Son Island in the central province of Quang Ngai on June 1. The structure took 5 months to construct at a cost of VND70 billion (US$3.34 million), mainly from Government budget. The Ministry of National Defense will provide the rescue station with a 450 ton well equipped search vessel.

Doctors and medical workers will be present at all times to rescue fishermen in cases of emergency, especially during the storm season. This is the first rescue station to be established in Quang Ngai Province and the central region.
