Govt Plans Trauma Unit in Indus Hospital


Shimla: The state government will tie up with Indus Hospital here for a trauma centre.Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh and Health and Family Welfare Minister Kaul Singh Thakur have given the go-ahead for the move. The modalities for the joint venture are being worked out before the signing of a formal agreement.

Indus Hospital, a 90-bed self-supporting, no-profit no-loss hospital, was set up in 1993 by Dr Balak Ram Verma, a cardio-thoracic surgeon and his paediatrician wife Dr Indu Verma, who had worked in the USA for several years.
