Scope of Ambulance Service to be expanded in Uttarakhand, Says Neigh

Dehradun: On the seventh anniversary of the 108 Emergency Ambulance Service, Health Minister Surrender Singh Neighon May 15 said the scope of the service would be expanded by providing inter-facility transportation wherein a 108 ambulance could shift a patient from a secondary care facility to the tertiary care facility at its own cost.

“We need to make the ambulance service fast and cost effective through the inter-facility transportation. If required, our ambulances could transfer a patient to Chandigarh or tertiary care centres in other places in case he or she could only be treated at a higher medical centre,” said Neigh while interacting with media persons at the seventh anniversary of the ambulance service.
