BMC to Dedicate to Public Country\'s Largest Emergency Medical Services Centre


The BMC is said to have made available 1,935 sq mtr (20,800 sq ft) area for the centre, where more than 2 lakh patients seek treatment, while around 17,000 persons are operated upon each year.

Earlier, the centre had 33 beds and 13 ICU beds. The number has been increased to 78 (37 ICU and 42 regular beds).
A senior civic official informed that the section is also set to have a registration desk, police chowky, trauma centre, ECG room, pathology laboratory, plaster room, surgical cell, X-ray section, in addition to a chemist shop.
