The ROC Legislative Yuan has passed laws reorganizing the National Science and Technology Center for Disaster Reduction (NCDR) to become an administrative institute under the Ministry of Science and Technology, in a move to strengthen real-time reporting from risk areas and decision-making, the NCDR said May 6.
The reorganized NCDR will introduce R&D technologies to improve disaster management efficiency and play a larger role in integrating disaster and emergency information to assist central and local government decision-making. |
