Kolhapur: Over 1 lakh devotees have already reached the Jotiba temple on April 13 Sunday, a day before the annual yatra begins. Officials of the Paschim Maharashtra Devashtan Samiti (PMDS) said the number is likely to cross 5 lakh on April 14 Monday.

About 145 medical authorities, including health workers and medical officers, have been deployed at the temple. A medical team each will be present at the Jotiba hill and at the temple area. "As many as 11 ambulances have been deployed along with an advanced life support ambulance to tackle any unfortunate incident. Besides, with the help of officials of the Food and Drug Administration, water samples from the food vendors and prasad centres have been thoroughly checked," said R S Adkekar, district health officer.
