Terengganu JPAM Launches MERS 999 to Improve Quality of Service


Kuala Terengganu: The Terengganu Civil Defence Department (JPAM) on April 01 launched its emergency call service through the Malaysia Emergency Response Services (MERS) 999 in a bid to improve its quality of service for the people.

Its director, Lt Col Che Adam A. Rahman said the department had been given credential by the Communication and Multimedia Ministry to carry out MERS 999 operations starting April 01."At present, we have nine staff to answer the emergency calls and we have requested to have between 12 to 16 other staff to work on shifts in our MERS 999 room so that they can provide a more effective and efficient service.” He said.
