Mumbai: People across Maharashtra can now hire an ambulance, state-run or private, at a fixed tariff, thanks to the persistent efforts of an activist from Thane.
The transport commissioner’s office recently released a rate card that will be applicable in 34 out of the state’s 48 regions. Mumbaikars, however, will have to wait longer for this as the city is among the remaining 14 regions where a standard rate hasn’t been fixed yet.
Besides Mumbai, the others that come under the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Transport Authority (MMRTA) region are Thane, Panvel, Kalyan, Navi Mumbai and Vasai, all of which are awaiting a fixed rate card. |
