Trauma Centre at Khanna Civil Hospital on the Cards, to Improve Emergency Services

Ludhiana: In a bid to improve emergency health services in Khanna, the health department is planning to open a trauma centre at the Khanna civil hospital. The trauma centre will be equipped to provide treatment to victims of physical trauma.Though built over one and a half years ago, the centre had not been inaugurated in the absence of adequate medical staff and equipment. But now, the health department has appointed almost all staff, including doctors and paramedical staff, while equipment is being installed.

A number of accidents occur on National Highway-1 in Khanna and in its periphery. However, instead of getting treatment at Khanna civil hospital, most of the trauma victims were referred to other hospitals, in absence of facilities and required infrastructure.
