Rescue operations of the Edhi Foundation have been suffering due to the disinterest of the federal government that has failed to grant permission to the charity to sell more than 300 of its heavy-duty vehicles, despite repeated requests. \r\n In order to generate funds to replace the “obsolete and useless” ones, they need permission to sell them in order to buy new vehicles required to partake in rescue operations. \r\nAccording to the organisation they requested the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) and the finance ministry a number of times but did not receive a single reply. \r\n \r\nThe pressing need of new vehicles were felt in the wake of a suicide attack on the shrine of Bilawal Shah Noorani in Khuzdar district in which more than 50 people were killed and scores of others injured. |
