Helping Accident Victims May Soon be Free of Legal Hassles

New Delhi: Helping strangers injured in accidents won\'t get you entangled in messy legal cases as the government is likely to introduce the Good Samaritan provision in the upcoming Road Safety Act.The move comes after Narendra Modi stressed on road safety and helping accident victims during his recent \'Mann Ki Baat\' radio talk. The ministry of road transport and highways has already drafted the guidelines for bystanders helping accident victims.

The move to bring these guidelines as part of the upcoming road safety bill would ensure a legal framework for protection of Good Samaritans who mostly end up facing harassment and intimidation from police and hospital authorities despite lending a helping hand to accident victims.
