CMCH Gets Emergency Care Equipment Akin to Those Used by NASA

Coimbatore: The Coimbatore Medical College Hospital (CMCH) has procured emergency care equipment that is similar to those used by National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), the U.S. agency that manages the space programme. According to Hospital Dean A. Edwin Joe, the kit, to be used on patients in a critical condition, was made by an equipment manufacturer in Sweden who supplies to the NASA.

It will determine vital parameters such as the levels of haemoglobin, white blood cells, glucose and urine micro albumin levels, within just seven minutes by testing blood samples. The kit has an accuracy of 99.9 percent, according to the manufacturer.
