Nagpur: Medical officers across the state have decided to resign en masse on Doctors' Day that falls on July 1. Two of them, Dr Rajesh Gaikwad and Dr Pramod Rakshamwar, will also start a hunger strike at Azad Maidan, Mumbai, on the same day. This is being done because the government has failed to keep its promise about fulfilling some of their demands.
Around 12,000 doctors from the state, including 3,500 from Vidarbha, who are members of Maharashtra Association for Gazetted Medical Officers (MAGMO) had gone on a strike earlier this month. |
